The Grand Bayou Hotel

A recent project inspired by The Twilight Zone. Really enjoyed tweaking the lighting, fog, and adding in new props and particles and telling a story with this eerie old hallway!

Programs Used:
Unreal Engine 4, Autodesk Maya 2018, Substance Painter, Headus UVLayout 2.

The initial environment reference sheet. The Hotel Cortez from American Horror Story, the Hollywood Tower Hotel, the Overlook Hotel and several non-fictional Deco-era hotels were the primary inspirations used for the environment's design.

For the lighting, I took heavy influence from the warm-cool tones used in Disney's Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion attractions as well as Punchdrunk Theater Company's production of "Sleep no More".

Using some of the gathered architectural references, I went back and looked for repeated structures that could make up a modular asset kit.
